You can book in advance at a discounted rate as part of our great value Surf and Stay packages or in person at the hotel during your visit. By booking in advance you guarantee the places you need- especially important if you are booking on behalf of a large group.

Our Surf and Stay packages include accommodation at Hotel Sunnyside, transport to the beach*, hire of equipment, and tuition. Simply give us a call and we’ll arrange everything for you!

SurfGSD is a surf school with a difference. A 4 star approved British Surf School, we offer surfing lessons and personal surf coaching for all abilities, from absolute beginners to advanced surfers. We provide all the surfing equipment that you will require and can offer surf lessons at several Cornish surf locations including the world famous Fistral Beach.

Do you want to learn to surf? Are you looking for a fun outdoor activity? Why not come join us for a surf lesson in spectacular Newquay? With every surf session we teach the basic safety skills, so with all of our knowledge, we can ensure that you have a great time and gain confidence. All of the surf instructors are qualified beach lifeguards and surf coaches.

Surf Coaching

Personal surf lessons are the most effective way to improve your surf skills. Provided with your own personal expert instructor, we aim to help you achieve the most out of your time in the water.

Our lessons are suitable for beginner to advanced levels of surfing; long or short boarding. We do advise that you bring your own surfboard, however, we can supply you with the equipment you will need including longboards or mini-mals.

Maximum of 2 clients per session and the minimum duration of a session is 2 hrs.

We offer special group rates for parties of ten or more. We cater for your corporate day out, birthday, reunion, stag or hen party.

Hire Centre

When you feel ready to go it alone, we can offer a great range of surf boards and wetsuits for hire. Based at Hotel Sunnyside, our hire centre is a convenient option for those looking to get a bit of practice in before splashing out on your gear. With Towan beach only a 2 minute walk away, what could be easier!

Surf Board and Wetsuit

Should you have your own board and suit, why not avoid the inconvenience of taking it back with you and finding somewhere to hide it at home when you can leave it with us here at Hotel Sunnyside. Our storage area is secure and you can access your gear anytime of year.
