Location

Hotel Sunnyside’s location is second to none. Overlooking Towan beach in the heart of Newquay town centre, our position provides the perfect base from which to explore the town’s beaches, shops, bars, and restaurants.

Whilst being arguably Newquay's most central accommodation option, Hotel Sunnyside is situated off the main drag away from the passing shopping and night time traffic. Facing a public green known as The Killacourt, The Crescent, with only a couple of small hotels and a development of holiday flats, is among one of the quietest streets in Newquay town centre. Yet a minute to the south brings you to Bank Street, containing the town's main shops, and to north, a minutes walk brings you to Walkabout and The Chy Bar, two of Newquay's most popular bars.

Beach wise, within 2 minutes of leaving the hotel, you can be on the sand at Towan beach, the most southerly stretch of Newquay bay. At low tide you can take the breath taking walk along the bay all the way to Lusty Glaze. Newquay's most famous beach, Fistral, is only 10 minutes away by foot, south of the town centre around the headland.

How to find us

By car

Having such a fantastic central location does have the one drawback in that we are not the easiest hotel to find by car! For road directions, we strongly recommend you use our detailed directions. Satellite navigation units and Google Maps do not recognise the one way system in Newquay, so to avoid spending your first hour in Newquay going around in circles, please be sure to print out a copy of our directions before setting off.

By train, plane, and coach

Via rail, you can travel to Newquay via Par or direct to Truro on the main line (12 miles away). To get from Truro to Hotel Sunnyside, we advise that you pre-book a taxi. You can also travel by coach to Newquay with National Express or Mega Bus. Flights are available direct to Newquay Cornwall airport from various airports throughout the UK and Ireland. Newquay airport is located 6 miles away from Hotel Sunnyside.

Parking

Whilst we do have our own dedicated car park, spaces are very limited and cannot be pre-booked. Unfortunately, the hotel cannot guarantee parking spaces and does not accept the provision of parking facilities as a contractual part of any booking. Alternative parking is available nearby in both residential areas and public car parks. Parking in our car park is complimentary to hotel guests.

The provision of mini-bus and coach parking is subject to prior arrangement with the Hotel. It may be possible to park a mini-bus in a nearby residential street, however, all coaches will have to be parked in the nearby Trenance Coach Park.

Local car parks charge from £5.00 per vehicle per day (9am-6pm) and £2.00 overnight (6pm-9am). Full details of local car parks and coach parks can be found here.
