Recycling and sustainable tourism are encouraged throughout the hotel with recycling bays on the ground floor, where we ask guests to take a pro-active approach to waste disposal. Energy and water conservation is similarly promoted within our guest rooms.

Whilst our bunk rooms are not supplied with room towels, our standard rooms are only supplied with one towel per guest, which we encourage to be re-used. In a drive to become more energy efficient and to reduce the amount of detergents we release into our local waters, we feel it kinder to the environment to not supply our rooms with lots of towels and bath robes as standard. For those guests in a standard room who do require an additional towel, you are always welcome to collect one from reception. We also have beach towels for hire from reception to save you taking our room towels with you to the beach.

Recycling

Behind the scenes in our bar, offices, restaurant, and kitchen we reuse and recycle everything we can. Our staff are passionate about our policies and everyone in the team make sure they do their bit.

Paperless Office

We have adopted a near paperless booking office at Hotel Sunnyside. We send all booking confirmation via email, offer online booking and a PDF brochure, and try to avoid paper correspondence wherever possible.

Housekeeping

Our housekeeping team use low impact chemicals and products wherever possible. We purchase our cleaning products in large containers and use refillable dispensers to reduce the amount of plastic wastage.

Food and Drink

To support the local economy, we source as much locally produced food and drink as possible.
