Newquay Paintball

Become a Paintball Pro

Learning to play

Although there are no hard and fast rules for trying to play paintball, there are some basic principles that will stand you in good stead when you take up the activity. Some of the tips are available from the Newquay Paint Ball website at http://www.newquaypaintball.com/ . This article aims to summarize some of the most important considerations to the activity and how you can develop your skills for this challenging pastime.

As a minimum you should have a good quality gun. Expense should not be the primary concern but rather you should concentrate on the effectiveness of that paintball gun. Some people recommend the Spyder Electra as one of the more effective instruments on the market. It is important to consider the fact that many guns will have gone through some significant level of adjustment and modernization which has to be considered as part of the program to develop your paintballing skills in Newquay. It is a good idea to ensure that you know all the major details about your gun such as the speed of the ball and how it affects your accuracy. If you do not understand your gun then you are not likely to know how to use it well. This is how accidents occur. You will need to have an in depth knowledge of the paintballing equipment that you are using.

Establishing yourself

People who are intending to become professionals usually have to build a reputation whether it is based on skill or accuracy. The reputation that you build can sustain or destroy your career. Given the fickle nature of the paintballing groupie scene, this reputation will be dependent on your ability to maintain the standards that you started. If they notice that you are fading, they will not hesitate to put you straight back on the heap. The best way to build a reputation is to participate in the smaller tournaments and ensure that you win many of them. Do not become stagnant because is very easy to become a one hit wonder. Rather you should be looking to progress yourself at every available opportunity until you will be able to command your own terms at tournaments. Team events are also a good way of making connections but you must ensure that you are playing with competent people who will not let you down.

The sponsor is a big hurdle for many would be professional paintball players. Finding a sponsor is like a political campaign but the rewards are worth it. You will need to present yourself and the trophies that you have won. Some sponsors will meet you directly while others prefer to work through an agent. Once you have secured a sponsor, you will find that they pay for your travel and the equipment that you use. Having a good sponsor is also one of the signs of a paintball player with a reputation. If you fail to secure a sponsor then people might begin to think that you are just not good enough. Some people talk about charisma but that is neither here nor there.
